Shanhai Shinpō / 上海新報 [The Shanghai Shimpo], (Shanghai, China)
The Shanhai Shinpō was a magazine founded in December 1903 by Tōtarō Takekawa, who was once a San Francisco-based overseas member of the Colonization Society and columnist for Japanese expansionist journal in America, the Ensei. It was renamed to the Shanhai Nippō in March 1904. The publication became daily due to the heightened demand for war reportage during the Russo-Japanese War.
