Japanese-American Courier

Japanese-American Courier, (Seattle, WA)

Japanese-American Courier Masthead

The first all-English newspaper was published by James Sakamoto, primarily for Nisei Japanese Americans. The paper advocated assimilation into American society, a different perspective from that of their Issei parents. Sakamoto later became one of the founders of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL).
